Over the coming days and weeks, you may notice some changes to the way reports work in LUSI. The changes affect only "Crystal Reports". Those are the reports listed under the Crystal Reports heading when you search for reports.

The way Crystal Reports appear is going to change. We are making changes so that LUSI reports will work under "Windows 7", the new version of Windows which is soon to be rolled out to your office. On the face of it, you should notice no change to the content, layout and appearance of the reports. If you do notice any changes, we want to know about it. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to report any issues as normal.
You need to have the Adobe Acrobat Reader software installed to view reports after we have made the change. Adobe Acrobat Reader will be installed already if you have a "Managed Build" office PC. If you do not have Adobe Acrobat Reader, you can download and install it by clicking on the "Get Abode Reader" link on this page.
You may not be using the new system immediately. You may notice that you switch back and forth between the new and old report systems several times over the coming weeks. This is because:
- We are taking a cautious approach, moving small groups of users at a time.
- We will move users back to the old system if a problem has been identified.
- We are monitoring the server that produces the reports under the new system to make sure it can cope with running reports for everyone.
You can tell whether you are using the new report system or not. If you are using the new reporting system, your reports will open in Adobe Acrobat Reader (see fig. 2). If you are using the old reporting system, your reports will appear in a window with the "Business Objects" logo at the top-right (see fig. 3).

When you print a LUSI report from Acrobat Reader, please check the "Page Scaling" option on the Print dialog. The page scaling option needs to be set to "None", otherwise the report will be slightly smaller than it should be.
If you want to export Crystal reports to Word or Excel, under the old system, you used to be able to do this by clicking a button in the toolbar. This is no longer possible in the new system as Adobe Acrobat does not have a button that will send your report to Word or Excel. Instead, there are some new options on the context menu when you right-click on a report in the report list. Right click on the report you want to export in the list of reports, and select one of the export options (see fig. 5). The report will then be opened directly in Word or Excel without appearing in a separate window.
